Welcome to PNN!

Welcome to PNN!

There is so much pressure in today's society to stay fit, young, and beautiful. Although sometimes our lifestyles, get in our way, everything from work, family, stress!!!!  One of the newest pressures especially for women is staying fit while pregnant. This was unheard of 20 years ago, when it was the norm to gain 20-30 pounds during pregnancy. BUt not today, along with what doctors deem as a healthy weight gain as well as the pressures of society women gain 10 pounds now, and have a strict timeline of losing that "baby weight." Living in this tabloid society has us reading how long it took these fabulous female celebrities to lose the weight after they had their babies and automatically it triggers a new pressure for the rest of the fabulous female population.

A popular up and coming way to stay fit while carrying that bundle of joy is pre-natal pilates. Pilates is a great core strengthening workout that will allow for modifications during the progression of your pregnancy. It is ultimately non-strenuous and focuses on strengthening and toning the abdominals, pelvic floor, and back in a safe, supportive way. The backbone of the pilates system is based on six principles; centering, concentration, control, precision, breath and flow. These principles are fundamental to the workout experience and will also help during the birth of your baby. Pre-natal pilates is a great way to stay fit, it's a total mind and body workout that will be benefit you in multiple ways throughout your pregnancy.

Anything a woman can do to enhance those nine months she will without a second thought. This is most likely because during the pregnancy it is all about the baby. But after the birth you must make time for you, continuing pilates after the birth of your baby, will allow you to have that peace of mind for one hour a day but also shed that baby weight in a healthy way.
